Background

Data security and user personal information leakage incidents now occur frequently. The CAC, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Ministry of Public Security (MPS), and State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) severely crack down on illegal acts infringing on citizens' personal information according to law. The operator industry is characterized by rich business and massive data. The operator's regulatory authorities attach great importance to data security and protection of users' personal information, and take data security as one of the annual assessment KPIs. To meet the requirements of the regulatory authorities and successfully pass the assessment, XX operator needs to assess the collection and use of personal privacy data in its apps.

Solution architecture

By referring to the regulatory requirements of the MIIT, MPS, and CAC on app personal privacy protection, and the guiding opinions of the Group on app personal privacy protection, Topsec has established a business, technology and management assessment model to assist the customer in sorting out the list of key apps and evaluating the collection and use of personal privacy by apps.

Topsec evaluated over ten apps based on the model built at the early stage by means of technical inspection, consulting, and manual interview, and assisted the business departments in rectification.

Based on the assessment results and the actual business situation of the customer, Topsec helped the customer optimize the business launch process, put the assessment part ahead, and reduce the economic losses caused by removing products caused by non-compliance at the later stage.
