Remote Backup Project For Multiple Intermediate People's Courts In A Province

The Data Backup and Recovery System is deployed on the intranet of each intermediate people's court in bypass mode. With reachable routes to OA system servers, digital court application system servers, and core database servers on the intranet, the system provides local and remote backup for core files and databases of the court.

Background

A province has multiple intermediate people's courts in subordinate cities, all of which have comprehensive IT infrastructure to support scientific, standard, direct, and collaborative processes of case trial and work management.

During operations of the courts' information systems, data security risks are rising. Once a data loss or system crash incident occurs, the entire court system will suffer severe losses. To ensure data security, the intermediate people's courts require a reliable data backup system that can improve their data security and emergency data recovery capability.

Solution architecture

This project involves multiple intermediate people's courts. Each court has multiple servers, running applications such as the trial system, electronic archive, high-tech court, OA, and official website. These servers play an important role in routine office affairs, trial procedures, and archive management. The servers mainly run Windows 2008 or Linux operating system and use Sybase or Oracle database.

Each court has a large amount of video surveillance data and electronic files that must be stored for a long time in accordance with laws and regulations. Most of courts use CD-ROM jukeboxes or tape libraries to store such data.

According to requirements of this project, the intermediate people's courts of City B and City C need to back up their data in the intermediate people's court of City A. Topsec designed an integrated solution for this project. In the solution, a set of Topsec Data Backup and Recovery System is deployed on the production network of each court and configured with a remote backup policy.

The courts purchased multiple sets of Topsec Data Backup and Recovery System for this project. The Data Backup and Recovery System is deployed on the intranet of each intermediate people's court in bypass mode. With reachable routes to OA system servers, digital court application system servers, and core database servers on the intranet, the system provides local and remote backup for core files and databases of the court.

Accurate capture of data

After backing up all initial data of a court, the system keeps monitoring changes of data on clients and captures incremental data accurately. Meanwhile, it transmits incremental data at a high speed through multiple channels, which significantly shortens the time window for data capture.

Automatic local and remote backup

The solution implements local and remote data backup automatically based on the permanent incremental data backup policy configured. When the local backup task is completed, the local system transmits incremental data to the remote system automatically. The systems are easy to use and maintain, as the backup process does not require any manual operation.

Instant data recovery

To restore backup data, a user only needs to create a data recovery task on the centralized management platform. Then, data can be restored from snapshots and loaded to the target server quickly through volume mounting.
